We've now moved. We moved out of the old French area, and now live in the grounds of Shanghai High School, extablished in the mid 1800's. We got home at around middnight after seeing some Jazz in the city, and we had to talk our way through a security guard to get in, like we were kids again. It was eerie last night trying to get to sleep becasue it was so quiet. We heard not a single voice or car. And in the morning, at dawn, we heard birds twittering in the trees outside. It was hard to believe we were in Shanghai.

If you are in Shanghai, around the corner from Boona 2 in Fuxing Xi Lu is a new cafe called "Labella Cafe". Little priceier than other cheap eats, but great interior design, wireless internet access, and chairs you can sink into and get some reading done. Highly recommended.
